Govt Asks BSNL to Improve Quality of Service in Four Circles

Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has been asked to improve quality of service in four circles – MP & West, UP, Bihar, and Bengal. Minister of State for Communications, Chandra Sekhar Pemmasani, on Friday asked the state-run telecom operator to resolve the power issues that its towers face. Further, to boost business, the minister also reviewed the marketing strategies that BSNL is employing.

FCC updates subsea cable regulations; repeals 98 “outdated” broadcast rules and regulations

The U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC) is updating its regulations for subsea cables to enhance security and streamline the licensing process. The updates, adopted at an FCC open meeting on August 7th , aim to address national security concerns related to foreign adversaries (like Russia and China ) and accelerate the deployment of these critical communication networks.

Vodafone Idea 5G Reaches Kolkata

Vodafone Idea’s (Vodafone Idea) 5G has reached Kolkata. This would make it the first city in West Bengal where Vi’s 5G is now present. In West Bengal, Vi’s website says that Siliguri will soon get its 5G networks. This is interesting as there’s no mention of Kolkata in the list yet. However, one of the regular TelecomTalk readers and community members – Faraz, has experienced Vi’s 5G in the New Town area of Kolkata.
