MN House Tax Committee laid over for inclusion: HF951: Sales and use tax exemption expanded to broadband

Today the MN House Taxes Committee hear on two broadband-related bills. They started with HF951 (Davids) – Sales and use tax exemption for telecommunications or pay television services machinery and equipment modified, which was laid over for possible inclusion in omnibus. I will post them separately for easily search access.

Consolidated Telephone Company and Meeker Cooperative Light and Power launch MC Fiber

West Central Tribune reports … A new utility services company specializing in underground fiber construction, MC Fiber launched in late September, according to a news release from Meeker Cooperative Light and Power and Vibrant Broadband in Litchfield. The cooperative has been serving the area as a co-op for almost 90 years, starting in 1935.
